At present, the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A.Timiryazev (RSAU-MTAA) is a large educational, scientific and production complex, comprising eleven Faculties and an Affiliate in Kaluga city. It includes the Institute of Continuing Education - “The Higher School of Management”, Educational and Methodical Department, Educational and Methodical Association of Higher Educational Institutions on Agronomic Education, International Relations Office, Planning and Economic Administration, Information Technologies Office, Postgraduate and Doctoral Education Department, Research Division, School of Agro-Business with its graduate program “Master of Business Administration”. The University also includes the Center of Extension and Information Support for Agro-Industrial Complex of Russia, the Center of Pre-University Orientation training, Linguistic Educational Center, Educational and Methodical Center “Audit”, Educational, Research and Consultative Center “The Forest Experimental Station”, Facilities Management Office, and other Departments and Production Divisions.
The University has four training and research farms located in different regions of Russia, specifically “Druzhba”, Yaroslavskaya region, “Mummovskoe”, Saratov region, “Kalina”, Tambov region, and “Mikhailovskoe”, Moscow region.
The University has nine museums, the V. Mikhelson Meteorological observatory, the N. Zheleznov Central Scientific Library, a Recreation center, and a Publishing House. The University also includes a Field Experimental Station, the N. Timofeev Selection Station, Botanical and Dendrological gardens, a preventive clinic, different centers, complexes, departments, laboratories, studios and other structural elements.
Seventy-three university Chairs are supplied with modern educational laboratory equipment, technical means of teaching, educational visual aids, computers and training equipment; and this provides a high educational and methodical level of a teaching process.
At the University students study and master progressive non-waste, resource-saving and nature-oriented technologies, economics, organization and management of enterprises, audit and finances in market relations conditions, principles of foreign economic activity of enterprises, marketing and agrobusiness. Studies are based on a wide use of computer equipment, economic and mathematical methods.
The University has direct agreements on cultural and technical cooperation with more than 30 Universities and Scientific Centers from 25 countries. The University the most successfully cooperates on scientific and technical problems with Universities in Germany, the Netherlands, USA, Denmark, and China. Scientists of the University take an active part in implementation of TEMPUS-TACIS European Union programs. Problems of quality in education are given a special consideration.
The University offers both undergraduate and graduate Master and Advanced Degree Specialists programs mostly based on a full-time type of education. The University also offers courses on non-residence and correspondence basis and external studies depending on students’ demands and possibilities.
